Ajay Devgn Begins Filming Maidaan’s Final Schedule On Valentine’s Day, Aims To Warp It By April End

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn began shooting for the final schedule of his upcoming sports film Maidaan on Valentine’s Day.

While the couples around the globe celebrated Valentine’s Day, a handful of people kept working on their professional front. Being one of those, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn also began the shooting of the final schedule of his forthcoming film Maidaan. The team of the film started shooting at Powai, Mumbai. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film will be based on the true story of Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. For the unversed, he coached and managed the Indian national team from 1950 till his death in 1963. Syed Abdul Rahim is considered by many as the man who changed the face of modern Indian football. Major portions of the film have been shot across Lucknow, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

While sharing the big announcement about the project, trade analyst Taran Adarsh asserted that the team is aiming to wrap up the shoot by April-end. Another important announcement made with it was that the film is slated to hit the theatres on October 15, 2021. He further informed that the film will be released in four languages, that are Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

Talking about the star cast of the upcoming sports drama, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh will essay the pivotal characters. The film will be jointly produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. Meanwhile, the film will be directed by Badhaai Ho fame Amit Ravindernath. All the other significant characters will be portrayed by real footballers in the film.

It is said that before the announcement of the nationwide-lockdown triggered by Covid-19, the team completed a 65 percent portion. Earlier, the makers aimed to release it in 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the film, which was on set, was put to hold. After finishing his part, Ajay will rejoin the team on March 10 in Madh for the shoot of the football sequences. Reportedly, the VFX of the film has been under process during the lockdown period.
