Ajay Devgn To Shoot For 10 Days For Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi

A piece of good news has surfaced online for all the ardent fans who are eagerly waiting to watch Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film will see Alia as a prostitute turned mafia queen of Mumbai. While she is essaying the titular role, actor Ajay Devgn has been roped in to essay another pivotal role in the film. A leading entertainment portal reported that Ajay’s track for Gangubai Kathiawadi is more of a 10-day work. The Singham actor has reportedly spoken to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali that he will begin the shooting for the film after he wraps up his acting-directorial venture, MayDay. For the unversed, the Golmaal actor will share the screen space with the iconic star Amitabh Bachchan in the film. As per sources, Ajay Devgn’s portion for Gangubai Kathiawadi will be shot at the Filmcity in Mumbai as well as a few outdoor locations will also be included.

Speaking of his character, Ajay will essay the role of Karim Lala, who thought of Gangubai as his own sister. In the film, fans will see Karim Lala reaching Mumbai to rescue Gangubai. He also played a major role in making Gangubai the brothel chief of Mumbai. It is said, that when no one stood by Gangubai, it was Karim Lala who backed her up throughout the journey and made her a person in power.

Gangubai Kathiawadi’s production was halted due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Now, fans can expect the film’s shooting to wrap up by the month of March, before it hits the post-production stage. It is also said that the movie may hit the theatres by Diwali 2021. However, the makers of the movie haven’t released an official statement about the same. The film will see Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn collaborating for the first time ever and later, they also have SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
