Amber Heard Johnny Depp divorce battle: Actress seeks out LAPD records against ex-husband

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard might wish for the long-fought divorce battle to have come to an end, but the recent developments prove the opposite. In the current multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuits, the ‘Aquaman’ star, Amber Heard, has gone much deeper in terms of bringing out evidence. According to reports, Amber Heard along with her Virginia attorney has got a subpoena approved on knowing what the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has on her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.  

Amber Heard wants to bring to light as much she can about the LAPD department and some of their policemen involved in a 2016 domestic assault incident in Los Angeles, involving the then-married ‘Rum Diary’ co-stars. The subpoena circles around body camera footage, digital information, documents, and records from May 12, 2016, the night of the abuse. The actor reportedly wishes to bring to light who abused whom that night along with the officers’ records and dealings in respect to the investigation.

The infamous legal drama

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard initially had met on the sets of ‘The Rum Diary’. After nearly a six-year relationship, the actors married in 2015. Amber Heard filed for divorce and a temporary restraining order against the actor after less than a year of marriage, alleging that he assaulted her while on drugs and alcohol. She went on to say that in a burst of fury, Johnny Depp had hurled a phone at her, leaving a mark on her face. Johnny Depp, in his defense, had denied all the accusations. Since then, the ex-couple has been in a war of lawsuits. 

The $7 million divorce settlement money, paid off by Johnny Depp, was to be donated to American Civil Liberties Union, as promised by Amber Heard. As of now, the actor has claimed that Amber Heard perjured herself since the donations have not been made to date. Johnny Depp claims that his ex-wife made all the promises and statements just to act like the wonderful person in the eyes of the court and that this was all a part of a big manipulative move.
