In recent years, the horror genre has taken a massive shift in Bollywood, with many films redefining horror in their way. Some directors have brought out several ancient stories, while some have the exact track of someone possessed. Here are actors who have played the role of a ghost and have sent us feeling scared for days. 

1.  Anushka Sharma: 

One of Anushka’s most scary movies is Pari. Pari is the story of Peri children born of a supernatural being called the Djinn and a human. Anushka plays the role of a Peri very well, and in a scene where she climbs down the building to feast on animals, has left us all chilled and has left us spooked for days. The film was directed by debut directors Prosit Roy and Ritabhari Chakraborty. 

2. Janhvi Kapoor: 

In her most recent flick, Roohi, Janhvi Kapoor has crossed all boundaries of being a good actress. In the film, she is possessed by the soul of an unmarried woman who kills men in revenge. The movie has jump scares throughout its screen time, but the last climax scene has left us feeling emotional and scared at the same time when Janhvi marries herself to be free from her deadly curse. The movie is directed by Dinesh Vijan, who chose this genre for the first time and did pretty well. 

 3. Ajay Devgn 

Ajay Devgn is a full-on action hero, but did you know that he once played the role of a dead ghost in the movie, Kaal, who roamed around the forest, killing anyone he met. It was Shah Rukh Khan’s first horror production, and honestly, it didn’t let us down. A scene where Vivek Oberoi rewinds a videotape where Ajay Devgn’s body cannot be seen in the camera but can only be heard has left us spooked.
