Anushka Shetty gives her fans the perfect birthday gift, announces her new project with UV Creations

Actor Anushka Shetty has announced a new project after an 18-months gap on her 40th birthday. An Instagram post, which has given her fans cause for cheer, says this is a new age entertainer.

A 50-second Instagram post on her 40th birthday on November 7, has stirred the entertainment pot for fans of actor Anushka Shetty. Winner of two Vijay Awards and as many Film Fare Awards South, Anushka Shetty of Baahubali fame, is all set for a fresh appearance on the large screen, after a gap of almost 18-months.

Deemed one of the most bankable actors in the Southern film industry, this Mangaluru lass who is an alumnus of Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru will be seen in a ‘new age entertainer’ that director Mahesh Babu P will direct.

While the Instagram teaser did not reveal the title of her upcoming film and merely hinted #Anushka48, UV Creations, the banner that backed Anushka Shetty in her previous blockbusters – Bhaagamathie, a Tamil-Telugu bi-lingual in 2018 and Mirchi, a Tollywood package entertainer in 2013, will bankroll her latest acting effort.

The shooting for this film (#Anushka48) is expected to get underway soon. Thanking all concerned for extending their wishes on her birthday, Anushka Shetty said she is happy to announce her next project. Incidentally, it is UV Creations that has given Tollywood fans hit such as Sahoo in August 2019 and is set to regale them with another blockbuster Radhe Shyam during Sankranti in 2021.

Industry grapevine has it that young upcoming actor Naveen Polishetty will be her love interest in this untitled project. The storyline is expected to deal with the age gap in their relationship and the situations they face on account of it. For the uninitiated, Prabhas was her lead actor in Mirchi. Bhaagamathie that Ashok helmed was remade for the Bollywood audience subsequently.

It was her role in Baahubali opposite Prabhas as Devasena that gave Anushka Shetty a pan India recognition, even though she held her own in the competitive Tamil and Telugu film industry since 2005. Her latest foray was in a Telugu-Tamil bilingual Nishabdham helmed by Hemant Madhukar. This film that also featured actor Madhavan was released on an OTT platform in 2020.
