Aparajita Apu: Here’s how Dipu keeps proving that he is a mismatch for his toxic family

Aparajita Apu stars the actors Susmita Dey as Apu and Rohaan Bhattacharjee as Dipu in lead roles. While Dipu is a very soft and timid man, his family seems to be quite the opposite of it. Time and again we have witnessed some deeply toxic scenarios that have occurred in the Mukherjee family, caused by its own members. However, Dipu seems to be the most unproblematic one amongst them.

Recently, when Supu’s husband failed to go to her house for a post-wedding ritual, Dipu was seen to be in disagreement with him. Supu’s husband even denied going to her house to pick her up at night and their mother, Abola, supported it saying he must be tired. This came as a shock to Dipu. He explained how Supu was the Mukherjee family’s responsibility now and he would volunteer to head to her house to bring her back.

While Supu’s husband and Abola were only concerned about their business and its success, we noticed how caring Dipu was. Supu’s own husband dismissed the importance of their post-wedding rituals and the importance of bringing his wife back as any responsible man would. However, Dipu’s understanding and respect for Supu, her family, and their expectations were heartwarming to witness.

Dipu was also seen trying to cheer Supu up upon his arrival at her house. His sister-in-law’s teary eyes and sad face confirmed his instinct that she was hurt as her husband did not come for the crucial ritual and Dipu could not stand it. He went up to her and promised Supu that he will help her find the key to her husband’s heart. Now, can you imagine any other member of the Mukherjee family doing the same thing?

In many similar instances, Dipu proved that he was a soft-hearted person, unlike his family. When the Mukherjee family accused Apu of having stolen money in their house, it was a matter of her self-respect and dignity. While Abola and her sister kept insulting Apu and said the rudest things about them, Dipu tried to stop them endlessly. He recognised the disrespect and tried his level best to stop his family from repeating it. So as we observed Dipu’s politeness and warmth, it became evident that he was nothing like his own family. Abola, his own mother, is a true representation of a dominant and cruel woman, but Dipu has no part of such toxicity within himself.
