AR Rahman Posts Unrecognisable Throwback Pic From His Childhood, Mourns MK Arjunan’s Death

Legendary musician AR Rahman recently made headlines after he took to Twitter to share a throwback picture of himself with legendary composer MK Arjunan, which was clicked during the ’80s. The maestro shared the picture with the veteran Malayalam composer to mourn his death, who breathed his last on Monday (April 6, 2020 ) at his home in Kochi due to age-related ailments. Sending his social media followers into meltdown with an adorable throwback picture from his childhood, Rahman also penned an emotional post for Arjunan.

For the uninitiated, Arjunan, who has over 600 songs to his name, gave the Oscar-award winner AR Rahman his first break in the ’80s. As we all know, Rahman made his debut on the keyboard with the popular Malayalam film, Adima Changala. Well, the composer of the film was Arjunan.
Sharing a picture from the ’80s on the micro-blogging site, where Rahman is seen seated with Arjunan and playing the piano, the 53-year-old musician wrote, “An act of kindness lasts a lifetime. I will never forget the love and encouragement you gave me during my childhood.”
Sending his deepest condolences, Rahman added, “Your innumerable melodic songs are a testament for your everlasting legacy. May you rest in peace MK Arjunan Master…My condolences to the family, friends & admirers.”

MK Arjunan’s death is not only a huge loss to the music industry but also to the society. Many celebrities from the South film industry took to the social media with their condolence messages for the much-celebrated composer in the Malayalam music industry.
In other news, AR Rahman will have 15 original songs composed by him in Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy’s Bollywood film 99 Songs, which will be released in three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Bankrolled by AR Rahman’s production company YM Movies and Ideal Entertainment, the film stars Ehan Bhat, Edilsy Vargas and Lisa Ray in the lead roles. Recently they launched the music album from the film and we must say, AR Rahman has bestowed upon us one of his biggest music albums for the film 99 Songs. Stay tuned!
