Auto Shankar Wins The Best Web Series (Regional) Award At MTV IWMBuzz Digital Awards 2019

If you haven’t watched Zee5 Original web series, Auto Shankar, yet, you must definitely add it to your watch list this weekend. And we’re not the only ones saying that. The web series starring Appani Sarath won the Best Web Series in Regional Language trophy at the MTV IWMBuzz Digital Awards 2019. Auto Shankar is the real-life story of Gowri Shankar, who terrorised the streets of Chennai in the ’80s. The web series hit the internet this year and will send chills down your spine.

The trailer itself draws you to the web series and Appani Shankar has done complete justice to his role in the series. Speaking to us exclusively about his experience of playing the most-feared gangster, Sarath said, “I personally as an actor felt that the web series format has given me more scope and space to act and explore the actor in me. I was also happy to have been given an opportunity to work in this medium, as I believe that as an actor it is important to have worked on all the available forms of media.”

The actor had also revealed that it did take him some time to get out of the character and he knows that he will always be remembered for his portrayal of Auto Shankar. If you are a fan of psychological and crime thrillers, you must add this one to your list right away.
