Beck Bennett enthralled everyone with his impressions of Vladimir Putin, Clinton, Bruce Springsteen and many more on the iconic show Saturday Night Live

After 8 long years in “Saturday Night Live” Beck Bennett has announced his departure from the iconic comedy show where he became famous for portraying the character of former Vice President Mike Pence.

Lauren Holt has also left the show along with Benett.

His journey on SNL

Bennett joined the show in 2013. He shared the news of his departure on Instagram: “Thank you for 8 years of remarkable people and incredible experiences that completely changed my life. I had so much fun.”

Bennett lives in Los Angeles and it is believed that he wanted to spend more time at home.

 

On the show, he was seen not just as Mike Pence but a host of characters like Russian president Vladimir Putin, singer Bruce Springsteen, author Ted Allen, former US President Bill Clinton, Vin Diesel and many more.

The American actor, writer, and comedian is also known for starring in the AT&T “It’s Not Complicated” commercials where he interviews kids.

The iconic SNL

Kate McKinnon, Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Melissa Villaseñor, Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Colin Jost, Michael Che, and Kenan Thompson are set to return for the show’s 47th season.  The show will feature three new faces – Aristotle Athari, James Austin Johnson, and Sarah Sherman.

During the pandemic, the show became one of the most-watched programmes. The popular American late-night live television sketch comedy began its innings in October 1975. Each show is hosted by a celebrity guest and its cast members parody contemporary culture and politics.

The success of SNL inspired its versions across the world.
