Birthday girl, Kate Winslet. Here are 3 reasons why we completely adore you
HollywoodIt’s 5th October, which means it’s Kate Winslet’s birthday, and she turns 46 today! Our Titanic superstar keeps getting better and more iconic every year, and we continue to be obsessed with her.
It’s 5th October today, which means it’s our beloved Rose’s birthday. We’ve all seen Titanic, and we’ve all cracked our fair share of Jack-deserved-better jokes, but to say that we all weren’t completely obsessed with the actress behind Rose is the blackest lie of them all.
Born in Reading, Berkshire, England on 5th October 1975, our dearest Kate turns 46 today! and looking the way she does—who could tell? We love our ever-legendary, evergreen, ever-lovely Kate Winslet.
Whether it was Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, which critics have credited as the best film of the 21st Century! or Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility (1995), or the countless other roles that have made us stan her even more, Kate Winslet stands with her legacy untouched (oh what a legacy indeed!). Weren’t we all blown away from her portrayal of a cop in the Mare of Easttown? The actor went on to win the much-deserved Emmy for the role.
Her legacy is too transcendental to be restricted to mere award categories, but even if hypothetically that weren’t the case, our Kate doesn’t risk anything—an Academy award, an Emmy award, four Golden Globes, three BAFTAs, a Grammy, and an AACTA award.
Here are 3 Kate Winslet moments that we aren’t over yet
1. THE Titanic Pose
It’s been almost 25 years since Titanic came out and we still find it impossible to not recreate the most iconic thing Titanic has given us.
2. This kiss from Ammonite
Ammonite is a lesbian drama movie, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan, directed by Francis Lee, released on 13 November 2020. If one could qualify any of Kate’s performance as being better than the other then we would definitely call this one of the best recent roles of Kate Winslet.
3. Her friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio
Her friendship with Leo is our most adored perpetual moment of Kate Winslet’s life. It’s rare to see celebrities being genuine friends but Kate and Leo are much needed exceptions from this superficial celebrity culture and we can’t help but be entirely devoted and awestruck by this godsent pairing.
WE LOVE YOU, KATE WINSLET.
