BMC To Demolish A Part Of Amitabh Bachchan’s Bungalow To Widen Nearby Road

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, Pratiksha, is known for its external architectural beauty. Apart from its magnificence, Big B’s fans also love the place a lot because it is where their idol resides. Fans gather outside his house for hours, even days, just to get one glimpse of the veteran actor. However, now the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is all set to demolish a part of his bungalow in order to widen a nearby road, which will change the way it looks forever.

As per reports, a wall of Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow is going to get demolished in order to widen the Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg. His bungalow is located in the posh Juhu region of Mumbai and was the first Bungalow of the Bachchans. It is where his father Harishvansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan used to reside as well before their demise. Currently, the family resides at another bungalow named Jalsa.

As per reports, 4 years back, BMC sent a notice to Amitabh Bachchan informing him about the road widening work. As per a leading daily, the notice was also sent to seven other property owners in the area including Rajkumar Hirani, Oberoi Realty, Pankaj Balaji, and more. However, Amitabh Bachchan reportedly did not revert to the notice. A part of other adjoining properties was demolished, but his property remained untouched. Now, BMC has reportedly asked the collector to demolish the bungalow’s wall soon so the road can be extended.

The road widening work has been going on for a while, in a bid to ease traffic congestion which often occurs in the upscale area.
