The farmers’ protest has been in the headlines for quite sometime now as farmers have taken a stern stance on the three farm bills which affect them immensely. In the most recent turn of events, the shooting of Bobby Deol’s upcoming film, Love Hostel, was stalled by the farmers in Punjab, as they have not received any support from the Deol family on the matter. They made it very clear that they would not allow the Deol family to work there due to the current situation and Bollywood’s silence on the matter. Previously, Janhvi Kapoor’s Good Luck Jerry shooting was stalled in Punjab and it only resumed after the actress put up a small and neutral post in support of the farmers, on her social media.

The farmers in Punjab have been protesting against the farm laws since the last few months and the ripple effect of the conflict can be seen in various areas and industries. According to the video attached above, Bobby Deol had to finish a shooting schedule in Patiala, Punjab, but the protesting farmers did not allow the crew to carry the shoot forward. The Love Hostel team had been setting up the equipment in Patiala when they were intruded by the farmers. They stated that they would not let the shoot commence as the Deol family had not spoken in support of the farmers in Punjab. They also reportedly said that they would not allow any Deol family members to work in the state. They were highly disappointed with the family especially because Bobby Deol’s father, Dharmendra, who is a Punjabi with strong roots.

A few days back, actor Janhvi Kapoor had been shooting for the film Good Luck Jerry in Punjab when the farmers stalled the process due to their ongoing protest. However, Janhvi Kapoor was quick to act upon the situation as she put up an Instagram post stating that farmers are an integral part of our society and the decision must be in their best interest. Good Luck Janhvi shoot was resumed after her social media support.
