Bollywood Drug Probe: Actor Arjun Rampal Appears Before NCB

Actor Arjun Rampal arrived at the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai to appear before the agency’s investigation team following the orders issued last week. The parallel investigation in connection with the Bollywood drug probe, which is still in the process emerged after new revelations in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

Last month, Rampal and his girlfriend  Gabriella Demetriades were questioned by the NCB officials following the arrest of Gabriella’s brother Agisilaos Demetriades who was found to be linked with several drug cases around the town.

In November, NCB officials conducted a raid at Arjun’s house in Bandra seizing 11 gadgets, including laptops, mobile phones, pen drives, and tablets. The agency also found several banned pills following which the duo was summoned and questioned. Rampal was questioned for seven hours and the actor in an interaction with the media said that he had provided the agency with a prescription.

For those unaware, in October, the NCB officials raided a Lonavala resort where Agisilaos was staying with his fiancée. The agency recovered 0.8 gm of charas from him and he was taken under police custody. However, recent reports state that a  special NDPS court granted him bail on Tuesday.

Though he was released, the agency directed him to deposit his passport and submit Rs 50,000 in cash. He was also asked not to leave the country without prior permission from the court. According to the developments in NCB’s investigation, Agisilaos is a part of a larger drug racket and supplied drugs to the peddler, who was in touch with actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showmik.
