Bollywood News: Income Tax Raid Continues At Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films Office For Third Consecutive Day

Reports claim that information related to a tax fraud of Rs 350 crore has come out whereas Rs 300 crore remain unaccounted for. Taapsee also transferred a hefty amount from the shut company’s account and used that money for interior decoration.

The Income Tax department raided quite a few places related to the Phantom Film Company last night. As per the reports, a few prominent names from Bollywood such as Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu, etc have been linked with this raid. Reports claim that information related to a tax fraud of Rs. 350 crore has come out whereas Rs. 300 crore remain unaccounted for. Watch the news video below for more details.

The raid has been reportedly going on for three days. According to the reports, five-six officials were present at the KWAN Talent Management Agency and left late at night. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former talent manager, Jaya Saha, was also present with the officials during the raid. Sources claim that she was being enquired about the tax fraud.

There are six major revelations related to income tax raids in Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu’s homes and offices. First is that Phantom Film Company could not account for Rs 300 crores. Second, there seems to be a tax fraud of Rs 350 crores in connection with the company. Third, a receipt has been recovered which suggests that the company gave Rs 5 crores to the actress in cash. Fourth, evidence related to the tax fraud of Rs 20 crore rupees has been recovered as well. Fifth,  several fake bills were recovered from the actress’ house and lastly, seven bank lockers linked to the company have been sealed.

As per the reports, a lot of documents related to the company have been confiscated by the income tax department. Before this, the department raided 28 places belonging to Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu, Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune. Sources claim that the department may raid a few more places of other people in the industry as well.

About Phantom

The film production company Phantom was started in 2011. The company was owned by Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena. The company made 16 films of which a majority of them did not perform well at the box office. In 2015, Reliance Entertainment bought over 50% shares of the company and it was shut down in the year 2018.

As per the reports, Anurag Kashyap bought a house worth Rs. 16 crore from the shut company’s account. Taapsee also transferred a hefty amount from the shut company’s account and used that money for interior decoration.
