Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan Joins The Cast Of The Intern Along With Deepika Padukone

Actor Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in the upcoming Hindi remake of the popular Hollywood movie The Intern. He will be seen in the movie along with actress Deepika Padukone. The film is set to release in the theatres in the summer of 2022.

Deepika Padukone took to social media platforms and announced the movie with a poster of it. Deepika wrote on her Instagram, “What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-star again!” and also welcomed Amitabh Bachchan to the project. In the poster silhouettes of Deepika and Amitabh can be seen along with their name on it. The movie will be directed by Amit Sharma, who is best known for his direction in the comedy, Badhaai Hai.

The film is based on the Hollywood movie, The Intern which stars Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in the lead roles. They garnered a lot of praises for their beautiful portrayal of Ben and Jules and it will be fun to see what changes will be done to make it apt for the Indian audience. Previously, Rishi Kapoor was supposed to essay the role of the elderly gentleman, but after his demise, Amitabh Bachchan has taken his place in the movie. Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan have worked in many films together which includes, Piku where they essayed the role of a father-daughter duo and Aarakshan where again they were seen as father and daughter.
