Boman Irani’s Mother, Jerbanoo Irani, Passes Away At 94; Actor Pens An Emotional Note

Bollywood actor Boman Irani had to deal with a heartbreaking loss as his mother passed away on the morning of June 9, 2021. Jerbanoo Irani, Boman’s mother was 94-year-old and had single-handedly brought him up. The actor who has appeared in films like Munnabhai M.B.B.S., Parmanu, Housefull and others penned a heartfelt note about his mother and shared it on his social media.

Informing people of his mother’s demise, Boman started the note with, “Mother Irani passed away peacefully in her sleep early this morning.”Appreciating Jerbanoo who he fondly called Jer Boman wrote that “She played the role of both mother and father to me since she was 32.” and always provided for him even when she didn’t have much. Recalling an incident from his childhood, Boman wrote, “When she sent me to the movies, she made sure all the compound kids came with me. ‘Don’t forget the popcorn’ she would say.”

Boman talked about Jer’s love for food and songs, and also pointed out how “she could fact-check Wikipedia and IMDb in a flash” affirming the fact that she was “sharp, till the very end”. Recalling a great piece of advice that she gave him Boman quoted Jer, “You are not an actor for people to praise you. You are an actor only so you can make people smile. Make people happy”. He concluded the note by calling his mother “A Star”.
