Bombay HC Grants Interim Protection To Sonu Sood In Illegal Construction Row

Sonu Sood is famous these days for his charitable ventures. However, he has been in the news for quite some days now after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) filed a police complaint against him. The BMC accused the actor of allegedly converting his six-storied residential building into a hotel without due permission.

Due to these allegations, Sonu Sood approached the Bombay HC. The actor challenged a notice issued against him by the BMC in October last year. He also challenged an order passed by a civil court in December dismissing his suit against the BMC’s action, reported PTI. After this, on Monday, the Bombay High Court extended a civil court order to January 13, and granted interim protection to actor Sonu Sood.

In the notice, BMC alleged that illegal structural changes were made by Sonu Sood in a residential building in Juhu without permission. The actor approached the HC to dismiss the BMC notice. Sood’s advocate told the HC that the actor had not carried out any illegal or unauthorised construction in the six-storey Shakti Sagar building.

Justice Prithviraj Chavan, while adjourning the petition till January 13, said that the order passed by the lower court shall continue till then. As per the latest reports, the Mumbai civic body stated in its affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court on Tuesday that Sonu is a habitual offender who kept on carrying out unauthorised construction work in the building despite demolition action initiated on two occasions in the past. This response came after he approached the HC and dismissed the allegations.

On the work front, Sood Sood is excitedly awaiting the release of his first music video titled Pagal Nahi Hona. He recently dropped the first look poster of the same on his social media. The actor wrote while sharing, “A love tale of madness coming on this 15th.” In the song, Pagal Nahi Hona, Sood will be seen playing the role of an army man and the album will depict the tale of his love life. While Sunanda Sharma has sung the song, Avvy Sara has composed it. More so, the lyrics have been penned down by Jaani. Apart from this, he was last seen in Simmba and Sita.
