Both Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes agreed on inspiring the existing and coming generations. They stated that if they, with all their vulnerabilities intact, can reach the heights of success, anybody with a deep passion and hard work can become a champion.

Since the 1990s, Grand Slam champions Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes have been India’s best tennis pair. They’ve given it their all and outplayed every opponent they faced at the time. They went on to become the world’s number one players. However, the friendship soon began to crumble, and the two parted ways.

Alongside their achievements on the tennis court, the charismatic partnership is recognized for their off-court life and the public rift between the two, that shattered the nation’s heart. All of this will be brought to life in the ZEE5 Original series, Break Point, by famous filmmakers Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari – Dangal, Chhichhore, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Panga fame. Web series Break Point is now premiering on Zee5.

Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the filmmakers, have chronicled the duo’s whole career, from highs of triumph to lows of failure in this Zee5 Original series. Mahesh Bhupathi, the 12-time Grand Slam winner, stated that the most important lesson from the show is that he wants people to appreciate the fact that he along with Leander Paes were able to achieve what they did. There were moments when things were fantastic between the two and they achieved success. There were also times when things were not so great between Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes, but they still ruled at the top.

Walking the same path, 18-time Grand Slam winner Leander Paes stated that the only reason he considered going forward with ‘Break Point’ was to inspire the coming generations as to how champions become what they are, in India. A Wimbledon champion or not, every human being has some vulnerabilities.
