Britney and Sam Asghari are engaged, but according to reports, they have yet to make wedding preparations due to the upcoming court case. There has been no movement on the prenup, either. They also want to buy a house together, but that plan has been put on hold.
Britney Spears recently unleashed a scorching diatribe against her family in an emotional Instagram post, alleging they had hurt her tremendously. Spears’ Instagram just alluded to the legal drama that is currently raging in her courtroom.
Spears testified for 23 minutes in a Los Angeles court in June, pleading with Judge Brenda Penny to release her from a 13-year conservatorship in which her father Jamie has had complete control over all of her personal and financial decisions as a result of her multiple involuntary stays in psychiatric hospitals.
Britney’s brave remark follows the public attention drawn to her conservatorship, which her father was in control of until he was suspended by a judge in September. She has spoken out against her family in court and on social media since her initial appearance in court to defend the conservatorship in June. Although all evidence points to the conservatorship’s 13-year term coming to an end, nothing is guaranteed. The judge’s decision on whether or not to order a mental evaluation is unknown. Britney, Jamie, and others have encouraged the judge to dismiss the conservatorship without an evaluation, and no one engaged in the case has argued differently.

Nonetheless, with 13 years of mental examinations on file with the court, the judge must decide whether Britney should be set free without another. Because the parties do not want it, the judge has an easy out, but given the numerous diagnoses throughout the years, the judge may want to consult psychiatrists and other doctors before making a judgement. Britney is spending her time hanging out with Sam, travelling on vacations, and publishing stories about her life on social media, despite her goals.
