Britney Spears expects her conservatorship to come to sum up by the end of the year. But first, Jamie Spears, her father, is someone Britney Spears wants out of her life. Mathew S. Rosengart, Britney’s lawyer, submitted papers on Wednesday with Variety agreeing to Jamie that now the custody must end without the need for a psychological examination, before the September 29 meeting.

The update so far

He has set a deadline for this, asking Justice Brenda Penny to set in action a “termination plan” that will “totally and unavoidably” terminate the contractual contract this fall. Rosengart requested that the court hold a hearing on the custody termination “as soon as possible”.

He stated that Britney “completely consents” to the proposal, as does Jodi Montgomery, Britney’s personal guardian, who might keep working with them.

Her lawyer, on the other hand, clarified that his first item of business is to remove Jamie as custodian of Britney’s estate, which is scheduled to be handled at next week’s court. On 29 September, he wanted Jamie, who’s been in charge of Britney’s funds and lifestyle for the previous last 13 years, terminated.

Rosengart had earlier charged Jamie with mishandling Britney’s wealth, also mentioned that Britney is freshly committed to Sam Asghari and will want a signed contract before the wedding. It’s something that requires the intervention of the custodian, and given the long-standing estrangement between daughter and father, as well as Britney’s allegations of custody abuse, Jamie should stay out of it.

After the application was publicly revealed, Rosengart put out a statement, which has been widely circulated on social media, wherein he stated that Jamie’s involvement in guardianship must be examined.

Jamie has accepted to leave his position as long as the expenses he made using Britney’s funds are approved. Part of it stems from nearly $1 million in legal bills he incurred while battling his ouster as custodian. Underneath that was $541,000 for non-legal “media norms,” which included Jamie’s legal staff handling media for his side in the aftermath of the #FreeBritney campaign to restore his image.
