‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ Postponed Due To COVID 19 Second Wave

Bollywood film Bunty Aur Babli 2 is another film of the year 221 which had to be pushed due to the ongoing pandemic. The decision was taken by the makers owing to the second wave which has taken over the country in the last few days. States like Maharashtra have been witnessing a sudden surge in the number of cases which has left the people worried about gathering in closed spaces like cinema halls. This tendency has also resulted in low box office collections, making the production houses push all big-budget projects which had been scheduled to release around this time. Previously, the makers of the film Haathi Mere Saathi had announced that the film will be pushed to another date even though the team had put a lot of efforts into the promotion of the film.

The entertainment industry is one of the worst economically hit sectors amidst the pandemic and the second wave of COVID 19 also seems to be affecting the film industry gravely. According to the video attached above, a few films are being pushed forward as makers believe that this is not the best time to release big-budget films. The latest film to join the bandwagon has been Bunty Aur Babli 2 which had been scheduled to release on April 23, 2021. Yash Raj Films recently announced that the film is being postponed to another date as the COVID positive cases have been on the rise lately. Producer Aditya Chopra is of the stance that the film was solely made for the theatrical experience and hence, will not have an OTT release.

The film Bunty Aur Babli 2 is the sequel of the 2005 blockbuster with the same name. This upcoming comedy-drama has been directed by Varun V Sharma and had been scheduled to release in April 2021. The star cast of Bunty Aur Babli 2 included Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Sharvari Wagh and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The new release date of the film has not yet been decided as it will mainly depend on the COVID curve.
