Bollywood’s most anticipated film Bunty Aur Babli 2 hit the screens on November 19. The film that stars an ensemble cast of Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, and newbies Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh is helmed by debutant director Varun V. Sharma. Ever since the film has hit the theaters, it has been receiving mixed responses not only from the critics but also from the netizens. While the film is being criticized for its boring plot, others are bashing the film for not being entertaining enough. Well, not only in the audiences’ hearts, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is also facing a tough time in collecting some digits at the box office. Yes, that’s true!
After facing to struggle at the box-office on Friday i.e., Nov 19 and Saturday, i.e., Nov 20, Bunty Au Babli 2 has seen the worst time on Sunday i.e, Nov 21 so much so that it has struggled to even touch the Rs 10 crore mark. As per Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh’s latest Tweet, Bunty Aur Babli 2 saw a minimal growth of just Rs 3.2 cr on day 3 of its release. After earning Rs 2.60 cr on Day 1, Rs 2.50 cr on Day 2, and Rs 3.20 cr on Day 3, the film is still far away from touching the 10 crore mark as it has made a total collection of Rs 8.30 cr on its first weekend.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 has clearly failed to live up to the expectations as it has still been facing tough competition from Rohit Shetty’s directorial Sooryavanshi. The film that stars Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in the lead role, released on Diwali but is still holding strong at the box office. The film is inching closer to Rs 200 cr as it has already made a business of Rs 178 crore at the domestic box office.
For the unversed, the film is a sequel to Bunty Aur Babli led by Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan that was released in 2005.
