Celebrating 25 Years Of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: A Special Programme Commemorating The Anniversary

Join us to celebrate 25 years of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the classic reality show where we catch some of the best performances of live music on television! We have put together a special programme in honour of this glorious occasion, even as we stay at home and battle an enormous crisis.

In fact, because we are all collectively going through such difficult times, we recognise the importance of music even more. Music has the power to lift us up from the deepest depths of despair and offer us joy and hope when things seem bleak. Truly, it is manna for the soul, a much needed mode of expression and a means to make our lives that much better, so we have taken this opportunity to commemorate a silver jubilee for a golden cause.

In a bid to provide entertainment for a purpose, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is holding this special programme (created remotely in line with our current work-from-home practice), the proceeds of which will all go towards the PM Cares Fund. We kicked off the event with a curtain raiser on Facebook Live on May 1, with had two and a half hours of content as a part of the Grand Finale.

We will hold a Digital Live-a-Thon as a build up to the grand televised concert, with over 350 musical performances in 10 national languages, within a total of 25 hours of live music and soulful conversation, hosted by Joy Sarkar. You can catch this on 23rd May at 9 AM on Facebook Live, with the Zee Bangla slot coming up on 24th May at 1 PM.

The pan-India TV concert is a delightful musical extravaganza of three hours! Hosted by none other than Sourav Ganguly, our beloved Dada, this concert was recorded and filmed from within the safety of the artists’ homes and included super special performances by stalwarts like Anupam Roy and Shreya Ghosal, some of the biggest icons of contemporary popular music. A common theme united all the participants, and this was further strengthened by a COVID-centric anthem as a response to the crisis, which was echoed by all. An instrumental performance was also among the highlights, showcasing the diverse talent from different regions in our country. Watch this programme on Zee TV at 6 PM on May 24!
