Chembarathi: Akhila now wants her ancestral chain back; what changed at Thrichambarath in between?

In the latest episode of Chembarathi, we saw Akhila asking Dasan to return her the ancestral chain she had gifted Kalyani. This comes as a shock to almost everyone watching the event, as this is quite a bold move of Akhila to demand back something she had gifted. In return for the chain, Akhila offers a set of gold ornaments instead. Dasan agrees to return the chain to Akhila without any hesitation. From gifting the valued ancestral chain to demanding it back, a lot has changed at Thrichambarath.

“Akhilanteshwari never takes back any gifts she has given,” was one of her major mottos. However, times have changed, and she has decided to take back something. Now, was Kalyani the problem here or someone else? Let’s have a look.

The ancestral chain was passed on by generations into Akhila’s hands. She wouldn’t have been ready to lose it at any cost. However, it was following Anand’s wish that Akhila agreed to gift it to Kalyani. After all, Kalyani had saved Akhila and Krishnan multiple times before and had also agreed to go to jail in Akhila’s place to save the Thrichambarath family from humiliation. Akhila first decided to gift a cheque to Rs 10 lakh but it was Anand who proposed she gifts Kalyani the chain instead.

A lot of people were unhappy including Vilasini and Jayanthi. More surprisingly, it even made Nandana a bit unhappy, leading to her complaining to Akhila on how Kalyani has changed after she got the antique chain. Now, months later from the incident, Kalyani and Nandana are best friends and the chain makes would cause no problem at all between them. But the earlier incident may have had an effect on Akhila’s mind regarding her gift choice.

Akhila’s bold decision comes days after Krishnan informed her about his wish to see Anand and Kalyani married. Akhila made it clear that she is against this wish and maybe this caused her to take back the chain from Kalyani. During the period of Kalyani having the chain, Akhila has gotten angry at Kalyani on multiple occasions including the time she found her at Anand’s room during Ganga’s Puja. All these events may have added up in Akhila’s mind leading up to this day when she has asked for the chain back. Now, with the chain in Vilasini’s hands now, it is a waiting game to see what happens next.
