The actor, however, decided to surprise his fans during this holiday season with yet another secret skill. This time the star took it to the kitchen to prepare some seafood delicacy and shared his super special recipe with fans. The video is an instant hit among Keralites as the sight of Malayalam cinema’s icon cutting vegetables and preparing a mouth-watering pan-fried sea bass is unique. Keralites have seen glimpses of the ‘Complete Actor’ cooking as he often shares stories and social media posts regarding the same. However, this was the first time that the star shared a proper cooking video.

Mohanlal has always been vocal regarding his love for homely food and cooking. The actor has even played out some of the best cooking scenes in Malayalam cinema like the funny ‘chicken curry tutorial’ from Boeing Boeing. The star, through some videos and blogs, had earlier shared how he decided to use the lockdown period productively and become active in things he is passionate about. It was great to see that the actor kept his word and took time out to sharpen his cooking skills while sharing a totally fun tutorial video with us all.
“One fine day we were all asked to stay at home as a protective measure against the COVID pandemic. None of us were prepared to do so for such a long period of time. I charted out a daily routine to make these times productive by doing things I’m passionate about. Here’s a video from back then,” the actor wrote in the caption for the video.
Mohanlal begins the 4-minute video by saying that he is making a pan-fried Sea bass. He also says that the recipe can be used for other fishes too, but he took sea bass as it is one of his favourites. In the video, Mohanlal also revealed that he learned the recipe from star filmmaker Priyadarshan’s mother. The actor goes on to say the importance of sharing recipes as he believes that “good food is to be enjoyed alongside others”.
In the video, Mohanlal can be seen wearing all white, giving directions on what ingredient to take in what measurements, and so on. As the video nears the end, the star shares some of his secret tips on cooking and they are amazing.
