Trending NewsRecently, producer Madhu Mantena opened up about his ambitious mythological projects. And it seems that Deepika Padukone will be working on Ramayana before getting started with Mahabharata.
Lately, Bollywood is all set to synergize the best of Indian mythological tales into a cinematic form. While giant production houses are backing them with a big budget, many A-list actors have bagged pivotal roles. And quite similarly, producer Madhu Mantena had teamed up with Deepika Padukone for a cinematic version of epic Mahabharata. Though this news made headlines for several days, there were no further updates regarding the same. However, recently Madhu shared that he’ll collaborate with Deepika for ‘Ramayana’ before making the ‘Mahabharata’ project.Â
In 2019, Madhu had announced the project ‘Mahabharata’ with Deepika Padukone. Also, he had shared that this epic tale will be shown from the perspective of ‘Draupadi’. And now, Madhu has finally opened up about this project. Being a “sensitive” story, the team had to research a lot before penning down the final draft, Madhu said. Reportedly, they have now reached the stage of writing down the final screenplay.
While the team will be locking the final script of Mahabharata, Madhu has begun prepping for ‘Ramayana’. It seems that the pre-production work of Ramayana is already in process. And thus Deepika will work on it before she gets started with Mahabharata. Though nothing more about these two projects has been revealed, Madhu might announce the entire cast by Diwali 2021.
In his recent interaction with the media, Madhu shared that Deepika is not just working as an actor on this project. She believes that the story of the epic Mahabharata should be told from Draupadi’s point of view. Madhu is quite invested in this project and wants to make sure everything is put together before the film goes on the floor.
So, fans will be in for a treat watching Deepika as ‘Sita’ and ‘Draupadi’ on-screens.
