Deepika Padukone was one of many people who then became vulnerable to infection with Covid-19 during the second wave last year. In April 2021, the actor and her family, that included her father Prakash, mother Ujjala, and sister Anisha, all tested positive. Deepika disclosed in a recent conversation that her ailment had rendered her physically unrecognisable.

Despite recouping from Covid-19 in a couple of weeks, Deepika ended up taking a two-month halt prior to actually returning to work. The actor has now conceded that it was because her mind wasn’t working and that she was going through an extremely difficult phase. Deepika revealed how Covid-19 affected her physically in a recent interview with a leading publication. Life was changed for her after Covid because physically, she was barely recognisable. She presumes that it was due to the medication that was provided and the steroids that she was put on. So Covid was unnerving itself and it made your body and mind feel completely different.

The actor went on to explain that it was the illness’s aftereffects, rather than the illness itself, that forced her to take a mini recess. She felt that it was still okay when she had the illness. But she continued saying that but later she needed to take two months off work because her mind wasn’t working. The phase was incredibly challenging for her.
