On the occasion of completing 19 years of Devdas, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Leela Bhansali took to social media to reminisce over their film. Read on.

One of the most iconic films of Indian Cinema, Devdas, completed 19 years on Monday. Helmed by ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Devdas starred Shah Rukh Khan (Devdas), Madhuri Dixit (Chandramukhi) and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Paro) in lead roles. With their impeccable and groundbreaking performances, all three of them managed to create an everlasting impression in the audience’s hearts. Apart from the storyline and powerful characters, the music and songs of the film also became quite popular.

On the occasion of completing 19 years, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Leela Bhansali took to social media to reminisce over their film. Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “All the late nights….the early mornings…. hard pace & problems. Worked out fine because of the gorgeous @madhuridixitnene. The stunning @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb, ever cheerful @apnabhidu dada, full of life @kirronkhermp and the whole team slogging it under the masterful and patient #sanjayleelabhansali. Sharing photos from sets of the film, Madhuri Dixit wrote, “Reminiscing some great and happy memories from the sets of Devdas. Even 19 years later it all feels so fresh! Thank you, Sanjay for sharing these. Will Cherish these forever!” (sic)

Sanjay Leela Bhansali wrote, “They say – A picture says a thousand words but look closely, ours will tell you the emotions we felt 19 years ago too.” The film was a commercial success and one of the highest-grossing films of 2002. Even to date, it remains one of the most celebrated and classic films of Indian cinema.
