Did You Know Bobby Deol Was Out Of Work For Three Years?

Bollywood actor Bobby Deol had gained huge popularity in the ’90s. He made his debut with Barsaat and even won an award for the same. However, the actor did not have any film to work in for 3 long years between 2013-2017. In an interview, he opened up about not getting any work and feeling helpless. Read on to know more about the dark phase of this actor.

Bobby Deol did not have work for three years

Bobby Deol made his Bollywood debut with the film Barsaat in 1995. The film was produced by his father Dharmendra himself and it was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. With his very first film, he created a huge impression on Bollywood. He gained popularity amongst the masses. The film starred Twinkle Khanna and it gained huge success. The songs and the story of the film were loved by the audience and critics.

After Barsaat he was also seen in varied other films like Gupt: The Hidden Truth, Soldier which were also a huge success. He also did some suspense thriller films like Humraaz and Ajnabee. His career did not last for very long. Soon after that, he started signing films that turned out to be flop which affected his career on a huge level. As compared to him, brother Sunny Deol and Father Dharmendra had a lot of work while he was working in average films. His father ruled the industry for 20 years while his brother even won a national award.

Bobby Deol stopped getting films with lead roles. He got roles of characters that were above 50 considering his age. In 2018, Salman Khan helped him out and offered him a role in  Race 3. Later he was seen in Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se with his father and brother. He was also seen in Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 4. However, Bobby couldn’t get any roles as a lead actor. In an interview, he mentioned that he had a very dark phase for 3 years when he did not have any work to do.

His wife Tanya Deol is an interior designer and is earning much more than him. He was embarrassed after seeing it in his children’s and mother’s eyes. So he decided to start looking for work and finally ended up getting some supporting roles. Currently, Bobby is seen in a number of web series which have bought back his fame. He will soon be seen in Apne 2 alongside his brother, father and his nephew Karan.
