Television child artist and performer Ashwanth Ashokkumar shot to prominence after he won the title of Zee Tamil Junior Super Star. He started to get a lot of offers after his win; He has even been a part of some popular films like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu 2 and Airaa, among others. However, Ashwanth rose to popularity only after his stint in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe, where he stole the show with his acting prowess and won our hearts as Rasukutty. But how many of you know that Ashwanth first started his career with a television drama before venturing into Tamil cinema?

Well, apart from ZEE Tamil Junior Super Star, Ashwanth was also a part of another popular Zee Tamil show, with which he made his acting debut in the small screen industry. The little champ started off his TV career with telly series titled ‘Mella Thiranthathu Kathavu’, a heart-warming love story between two visually challenged individuals Santhosh and Selvi. Ashwanth played a pivotal role in the show, where he showcases his flair for comedy.

Ashwanth has definitely come a long way. In a career spanning four years, Ashwanth has already won awards. He bagged ‘Zee Tamil Kudumbam Viruthugal’ award in People’s most Favourite Actor category and ‘Best Child Artist’ awards in Studio One Star Icon Awards and Galatta Nakshatra Awards categories. Ashwanth is surely making a mark in the South film industry at such a young age. Apart from awards, Ashwanth also received tremendous love and praise from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh during the Zee Cine Award.

Ashwanth is also a social media sensation. The actor is pretty much active on Instagram. He regularly uploads videos of the DIYs he makes and inspires his young fans to be productive. Also, Ashwanth regularly makes videos of himself, where he talks about the social issues. Like recently, he took to the photo-sharing app to spread awareness on the coronavirus pandemic, urging everyone to be safe and stay home.

On the career front, Ashwanth, who has garnered some much-deserved popularity after he bagged his first show Mella Thiranthathu Kathavu, will soon be seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming film titled ‘Jagame Thandhiram’. The film will see Dhanush, Sanchana Natarajan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vauxhall Jermaine and James Cosmo in the lead roles, while it is slated to hit the theatres on August 27, 2020. However, the film was scheduled to release on May 1, 2020 but has been postponed, owing to the global coronavirus pandemic. Stay tuned!
