Dwayne Johnson is reuniting with ‘Fast and Furious’ writer Chris Morgan and ‘Jumanji’ director Jake Kasdan for a unique Christmas-themed film project whose tentative title is ‘Red One’.

Jake Kasdan is on his way to producing another masterpiece with his all-time favorite actor Dwayne Johnson. This duo is reuniting for a unique Christmas-themed film project, Red One, set up at Amazon.
Kasdan will both direct and produce this unique film.

According to the THR, Dwayne Johnson is reuniting with ‘Fast and Furious’ writer Chris Morgan and ‘Jumanji’ director Jake Kasdan for a unique Christmas-themed film project whose tentative title is ‘Red One’. The Rock is attached to star, maybe as Santa himself and along with his Seven Bucks Productions co-founders Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia producing too. Chris Morgan, who previously worked with Johnson in great films like the Fast and Furious franchise, spinoff, and Hobbs & Shaw, converted the original story written by Hiram Garcia, Seven Bucks’ president of production, into a script. Morgan is also the director of photography.

Kasdan is producing along with Melvin Mar in his production company, The Detective Agency, and Sky Salem Robinson is co-producing. Amazon picked up this featured film project in June, attracted by the branding and business opportunities made an offer for both Amazon’s streaming and e-commerce businesses.

The plot is being kept under wraps, but Amazon describes Red One as “a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.”

The film is scheduled to begin production in 2022, with a Christmas release in 2023. Kasdan and Johnson collaborated on the blockbusters Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, which earned over $1.7 billion globally. With his films Walk Hard and Bad Teacher, he is recognized for his humorous flair, and he most recently directed the premiere episode of Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. for Disney+.
