Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was a hit movie that starred Sunny Deol in the lead. In 2001, the film made a buzz at the box office. And now the makers of the film are all set to come back with a sequel to the most loved film. A few days ago, Sunny Deol took to his social media accounts to announce the sequel of his film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The upcoming film of the 64-years-old actor is named Gadar 2 and will be released in 2022.
Today, on the auspicious occasion of Dusshera, Sunny Deol took to his Instagram account and shared a motion poster of Gadar 2. While sharing the intriguing poster on his social media handle, the actor wrote, “After two decades the wait is finally over! On the auspicious day of Dusshera, presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar 2 The Katha Continues…”
In the motion poster shared by Sunny Deol, a number 2 and The Katha Continues… can be seen written on it. This all indicates that the new movie is a follow-up to Gadar. Actor Utkarsh Sharma, who played the son of Deol and Patel’s character, is also returning for the sequel. Gadar 2 is produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Production. Interestingly, Gadar 2 will go on floors soon.

For the sequel of the film, Sunny Deol will once again collaborate with filmmaker Anil Sharma and actor Ameesha Patel. The original movie was released on June 15, 2001, and had won several hearts at that time. It was a partition-set drama, written by Shaktimaan and directed by Sharma. The film tells the story of Tara Singh played by Sunny Deol, a Sikh who falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl, Sakina played by Ameesha Patel.
According to the leading portal, the sequel will center on the India-Pakistan conflict as Sunny takes down the entire country. The pre-production work is already underway and the film is set to go on floors sometime in November. The 2001 film also starred Amrish Puri and Lillete Dubey in important roles.
