Ganesh Visarjan: Sonu Sood And Family Bid Goodbye To Ganpati Bappa

Actor Sonu Sood has been getting the Ganesh idol home every year for the last 22 years. This year too, he celebrated the festival with equal zeal. Actor Sonu Sood, who is best known for helping those impacted by COVID-19 and also called the real hero by his fans, happens to be a Ganesh bhakt too. Sonu, who had hosted the elephant god, Ganpati, in his home for five days, finally bid him adieu on the fifth day of the festival.
Sonu’s Ganpati idol this year was a beautiful saffron color. The actor even distributed sweets to his fans after the puja rituals on the first day of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Earlier Sonu had shared his memories of hosting Ganpati in his home for the last 22 years. He also shared that he didn’t have much idea about the celebrations since he was brought up in Punjab. Only when he moved to Mumbai to become an actor, he realized how big the festival was and how people celebrated it in Mumbai.
His first Ganapati idol was bought from the Vile Parle station in Mumbai and Sonu and his wife decorated the house at midnight to welcome Ganesha home. A lot has changed now for the actor and also the celebrations at his home. Sonu’s children too enjoy the festival. He believes that Ganpati Bappa has helped him sail through all his difficult times and has helped him in his life, career, and any other challenge he has faced.
For the visarjan, Sonu’s wife Sonali Sood and sons Ishaan and Ayaan accompanied him. Sonu was dressed casually in a pair of blue denim and a black tee-shirt. Sonu was heard telling the paparazzi present there that they would soon own their channels with Bappa’s blessings!
On the way to the visarjan, Sonu’s younger son sat in the front seat of the car, his wife and older son sat behind. While Sonu sat with the Ganpati idol in the trunk of his car and held on to the idol dedicatedly all the way to the visarjan place.
