Several celebrities from the Indian film and television fraternity have unfortunately been infected by the coronavirus over time. One of the latest people on the list is eminent Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While the director has chosen to quarantine in his house upon testing positive for COVID-19, his upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi has run into some trouble yet again.

The shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi has come to a halt after its director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. The news has come soon after the popular Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor, tested positive for the disease too. According to certain insider sources, the director had been very busy with the filming of the film lately. However, upon the coronavirus positive results of the director, the shoot has come to a halt for time being, which was taking place in Mumbai’s film city. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has quarantined himself at his home now.

On the other hand, the director’s upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi has yet again run into some issues. The film which is currently encountering certain conflicting responses and demands has already faced trouble in the past. While its recently released teaser garnered a lot of love and appreciation from fans and viewers, certain controversies have resurfaced about it now. Maharashtra’s Congress MLA Ameen Patel has demanded that the title of the film be changed as according to him, it is damaging the image of the Kathiawad area of the state. He has also claimed that place has changed over time and does not continue to remain how it was in the mid-1900s and that the women residing there have begun exploring various types of careers. Politician Ameen Patel has also asked for the state government of Maharashtra to intervene in the matter. Not only that, but even the residents of Kamithapura are unhappy with the teaser of the film, and have expressed their belief that the film has painted a wrong picture of the history of the place. They have also said that they will not let the film release.
