Godman Teaser: This ZEE5 Original Series Unravels The Dark Side Of A Self-Styled Saint

ZEE5 is all set to release its new original series ‘Godman’ and the teaser of the same has now been released on the streaming platform. Directed by Babu Yogeshwaran, Godman is a saga of a treacherous battle for money, power, sex, and religion. The series will unravel the dark side of a self-styled godman; who will misuse his power and popularity (among his people) to influence the political system, business, and society.

The teaser, released by the creators today on May 26, has already got a lot of views. In this one-minute-11-seconds long video, we see a Godman, who seems to have support from large sections of the society and has an influence on his people. He wants to teach a lesson to all the Brahmins. He dislikes the way they function, and so he encourages one of his devotees (who is a non-brahman) to read Vedham. The Godman wants to change things and he is going to do it with the help of this devotee. The teaser is intriguing and fast paced and we can barely wait for the entire series to release on June 12 on ZEE5.

Every character in the series is a slave to all of the four aspects throughout the show. It would be interesting to watch how these aspects now grip each character and drive them to a blind chase with no morals.

Even in this short teaser, we can see some intense theatrical skills displayed by Daniel Balaji, who plays the lead role. Daniel, if you remember, played the villain Amudhan in Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, opposite Kamal Hassan. The female lead in the series is none other than film heroine Sonia Aggarwal. Sonia was last seen playing Renganayagi in Queen and in the film Ayogya in 2019. Besides them, the series also stars actors Jeyaprakash and Marumuthu in pivotal roles.

The filmmaker, Babu Yogeshwaran, has directed two Tamil films – Doss and Tamilarasan besides writing scripts for many daily soaps. Now, he has come up the web-series Godman and we can’t wait for its official release on ZEE5.

Production was overseen by Ilango Raghupathy of Feathers Entertainment, while the screenplay and cinematography have been done by PJ Rajaiah and AL Ramesh respectively. The music for the series has been scored by Sathish and J Lakshman.
