Gryffindor wins with Tom Felton’s Harry Potter outfit

Grab your butterbeer and quidditch brooms, because this outfit is ready to fulfil all of your Harry Potter fantasies.

There are some who celebrate Halloween the correct way—in Harry Potter-themed costumes, of course—and then there are those who don’t. Tom Felton joined in the fun this year, but we’re quite sure Draco Malfoy wouldn’t approve of his choice of costume.

“Wtf dad?” Felton said on Instagram on Nov. 1 as he showed off his Harry Potter outfit to his almost 11 million followers. He demonstrated bravery and guts by departing his Slytherin home for the terrifying holiday, in true Gryffindor spirit. Felton’s Harry Potter impersonation was spot-on, from the spectacles to the scar. We’ll accept it, even though he’s missing Hedwig since his cute dog Willow wears a Gryffindor scarf.

Felton’s outfit arrives just in time for the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. From 2001 through 2011, Felton featured in the Harry Potter film series alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint

Fans of Harry Potter shouldn’t be concerned, since Felton has said that his actual allegiance is with Slytherin. On Oct. 7, in honour of the film’s 20th anniversary, Felton posted a video on Twitter showing himself taking the Sorting Hat challenge on the Wizarding World website.

“I’m Draco Malfoy dressed as a muggle,” he explained.

However, as the video progresses, he becomes increasingly dissatisfied with the outcomes. He adds, “I’m a Gryffindor,” as he pretends to cry violently. Felton is disappointed, so he asks his buddy Tom Fletcher to take the quiz and “bring some pride back to Slytherin house.”

“Please take the exam and pretend to be a Slytherin, if only for one of us,” Felton begs. “Otherwise, this is going to cause us a lot of problems.”

Felton has now accepted his actual Gryffindor identity.

Whatever the outcome, we’ll be eating chocolate frogs and binge-watching the Harry Potter series for the rest of the day.
