Ashwini Bhave is a renowned actress who has worked in several Marathi films over the years and she has also dabbled with Hindi projects! She turns 49 this May 7, and we wish her a very happy birthday! The actress was born and brought up in India and now lives in San Francisco Bay Area. Throughout her career, Bhave has given audiences wonderful performances both on the big and small screen. She has worked with big names like Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ashok Saraf, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar amongst many others. The actress has even acted in some South-Indian films as well! Dhadakebaaz

One of her most popular films which released in 1990 is the colourful and hilarious film, Dhadakebaaz. It revolves around a man named Lakshya who finds a bottle filled with sand in the middle of an old fort. In it is a genie who looks eerily similar to Lakshya and calls himself Gangaram. He agrees to grant Lakshya his wishes as long as there is sand in the bottle. Will Lakhsya get everything he wants? Or will Lakshay get caught up in the troubles that come with this magic bottle? Ashwini plays the role of Uma Jadhav in this film!

Halad Rusli Kunku Hasla

This 1991 film stars Ashwini Bhave in the lead along with Satish Pulekar, Vijay Kadam and Nilu Phule in the lead. Ashwini is Gauri in the film whose marriage is broken off after her would-be husband, Avinash accuses her of having an affair and leaves. So, Gauri marries a physically disabled man in order to prove that she is of the truest virtue. But an angry Avinash has vowed to never let Gauri live in peace. Will this family drama end well?

Vazir

A 1994 Marathi crime thriller film stars Vikram Gokhale, Ashwini Bhave, Ashok Saraf. This film is about a Chief Minister’s secretary, Purushottam Kamble who is secretly power-hungry and does a lot of things to gain it including marrying a rape victim to look good. The said rape victim, Kamal Juvekar, in the film is played by Ashwini Bhave! Kudos to Ashwini for playing a woman who was molested by four men in the film and doing the character total justice.

Sarkarnama

Ashwini was also part of this 1998 film which was about the chawl system and how inefficient the government can be. A supervisor of the chawl one day finds that the structure is unsafe and calls for immediate evacuation. He sends a letter to the chief minister but nothing is done and the letter is apparently lost! The film is the story of how this supervisor tries to get back at the chief minister!

This 1991 film revolves around a group of college-going youngsters who are all friends and spend time together often. They decide to meet at a haunted mansion but mysterious circumstances lead to each of them dying one after the other. Why is the killer targeting them? Will anyone make it out alive? This film is a proper thriller and a murder mystery. It stars Ashwini Bhave, Ashutosh Gowariker, Sanjay Mone, Asavari Joshi, Prashant Damle, Makrand Deshpande, Nilu Phule and Shreeram Lagoo.
