Kishori Ambiye, one of the very few actresses known for her comic timing, celebrates her 53rd birthday today. The actress made her debut in the industry with Zapatlela where she was seen opposite the legends of Marathi cinema, Laxmikant Berde, and Mahesh Kothare. After her successful debut, Kishori rose to prominence as an actress and was later seen in many such comedy films and TV shows. The actress is currently enjoying her stint on Zee Marathi’s popular family drama Mazhya Navryachi Bayko. She features in yet another comic role as Shanaya’s (Isha Keskar) mother Sulakshana aka Mrs Sabnis on this show. Despite playing a grey shade, Kishori has managed to grab our attention with the quirky set of qualities of her character. On the actress’s birthday, here are five things about Mrs. Sabnis that have made us fall in love with her.

1. Her protective nature
Mrs. Sabnis is absolutely protective of her ‘Shanu baby’ and treats her like a little princess. She has always made it a point to pamper Shanaya. Mrs. Sabnis wants Shanaya to enjoy a lavish life and works towards it. Being money-minded, Mrs. Sabnis sometimes tends to cross the limits to achieve this. However, we think that this quality of hers is justified, as after all, she is a doting mother to her child.
2. Her wacky sense of humour
Mrs. Sabnis adds an element of fun to the show, thanks to her quirky character. She possesses a whacky sense of humour that will make you explode with laughter. Mrs. Sabnis is often found engaging in hilarious banter with her daughter on the show which is a joy to watch on screen. Agreed?

She is also gifted with a cunning mind which she uses to get out of any given situation. Mrs. Sabnis’s sharp mind runs like a horse and she seizes every opportunity that comes her way. This particular side of her personality is reflected in Shanaya’s behaviour as she is equally sly as well.

Aside from the exciting twists and turns in the plot, there’s another element that adds spice to the show and that is Mrs. Sabnis and Shanaya’s amazing equation. She shares an amazing bond with Shanaya which we are obviously jealous of. When these two are together, they can wreak havoc in any man’s life let alone Gurunath. The mother-daughter duo is an invincible force as their mind works in a similar way.

Mrs. Sabnis uses her quick thinking to device masterful plans along with Shanaya. She can easily get rid of anyone who comes in her way through her strategies. Mrs. Sabnis has also been influential in every major plot twist to have occurred in the story so far and we can’t wait to see more of her smart plans.
