There may be many actors playing the role of dashing police officers with six-pack abs but we are totally fine with our cute Happu Singh. Yogesh Tripathi who plays this character was born on 11th August 1979, and today he celebrates his 40th birthday. When we hear the name Happu Singh we instantly remember the round face, with eyes about to pop-out and a big fat belly. What gets more attention is is unique and out of this world hairstyle which is like 3 questions marks upside down. Not many of his fans might be aware that this hairstyle is his own creation. Yogesh tried this hairstyle while he was working with another comedy show but when he saw the people reaction, he decided to try the same for the character of Happu Singh.
Yogesh mentions it most of the time that he is a big fan of the Bollywood actor Govinda. He says that he grew up watching his movies and he was the one who inspired him to try his luck in the entertainment industry. We don’t hold any doubts about this because Yogesh does remind of us Govinda with his comic timings and expressions.
Be it on-screen or be it in real life, Yogesh is a truly a loving father. He takes care of his fellow colleagues especially the Baccha gang. Despite having busy shooting schedules he manages to take out time and have fun with his son, Dishu. We often see him sharing pictures with his fans on social media.
As we have said this earlier, Yogesh’s career story is nothing less than a Bollywood movie. For the first time when he came to Mumbai to try his luck, he had to spend nights at the railway station due to shortage of money. He decided to go back and return with some preparation. A few years later, he came back to Mumbai, got ads and episodic roles. His hard work was noticed by the makers of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain and the rest is history.
The fact that he had to struggle his way to reach where he is today, makes him humble and down to earth. The actor helps his young co-stars like Ashna Kishor, Sanjay Choudhary, Zahara Sethjiwala, Somya Azad, Zara Warsi and Aryan Prajapati.
Not many of his fans might be aware that Yogesh’s parents did not allow him to chose acting as his career. While talking to TOI he said “To convince my family of teachers was a difficult task. Doctor aur engineer banne ke liye paise har parents de denge but acting ke liye they say yeh kya kar rahe ho natak-nautanki. But once I started to do plays in Lucknow they accepted the fact that I want to be an actor”.
