‘Selfie’ as a term was coined by the millenials when it became a raging trend. But the first-ever selfie was taken in the year 1839 by a photography enthusiast Robert Cornelius. World Selfie Day is celebrated on 21 June every year. Slowly the trend of taking a selfie has become a routine for most of us. Selfies have crept into our lives and are here to stay as the front cameras of our mobiles take over the rear camera photography. Selfies are the next-gen tradition and celebrities as well as commoners indulge in it alike. In our Marathi industry, Isha Keskar is the queen of selfies.

Marathi actors including Subodh Bhave, Gayatri Datar, Abhijeet Khandkekar, and others post their selfies on a regular basis! In the initial stages, the selfie was only meant to be the self-portrait but slowly it started evolving as couple pictures with the front cam, group pictures (groupfie) and other newly added forms began to emerge. Selfie was invented to eliminate the need for a photographer and make us all, more independent. Check out this gorgeous selfie of Isha, where she stuns in a bright yellow saree, teamed with a red blouse.
