Prep:
Clean the skin with a gentle everyday cleanser and moisturise well. Follow this with an eye cream for the area around the eyes. Gently massage from the inner corner of the eyes to the outer corners. Finally, use a good matte primer to hold in all the moisture and to keep the sweat at bay.
Face:
Select a colour of foundation that is closest to your complexion. Apply it with a beauty blender or a foundation brush. Conceal your flaws using the colour-correction technique. If you’re covering dark circles, port wine birthmarks, or other colourful areas, apply the colour-correcting concealer of the opposite colour on the colour wheel. Blend this in, but don’t expect it to disappear. The foundation and the concealer will hide it. Use a cream-based blush on the apple of your cheeks. Blend well towards the hairline. Dust your face lightly with a translucent powder. In case dryness plays spoilsport, you can add a few drops of prep oil to the foundation. For the perfect rosy cheeks, use a powdered blush and soft gold highlighter for the dewy skin on top of your cheekbones and T-zone.
Eyes:
Applying primer to your eyelids before you begin will make your look last even longer and it would also prevent the colours from running. Use a natural-toned eyeshadow in matte and apply the colour from the lid until the socket or crease line and blend outwards to form a defined crease line. Line your eyes and draw a wing with an intense kohl pencil. Create an elongated cat eye for a dramatic look. Keep the lower lid bare to balance the drama. Run the tip of the kohl pencil through flame to soften it and get a smooth texture, making it easier for the product to smudge. Let the tip cool before using it. Take an angled brush and start blending the liner in a swift motion until you get that soft finish. Use the kohl pencil again and this time, line the lids very close to the lash line so as to not disturb the smudged texture. Finish the look with a couple of coats of mascara and you’re done!
Lips:
Outline with a wine-coloured lip liner and filling in with the same, apply a mattifying long-lasting lipstick to complete this look. Use a fixing spray to set this look.
