Drohi
Drohi is a 1992 film directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The film starred Nagarjuna and Urmila Matondkar in the lead roles. A crime-drama, Drohi was very well-received by the audience, who also loved the performances by Nagarjuna and Urmila. This was Urmila Matondkar’s first film with director Ram Gopal Verma, after which, she starred in numerous films directed by him and received praises for all those roles.

Judaai
Directed by Raj Kanwar, Judaai was a drama film, about a man who marries for the second time on his first wife’s behest, in order to become rich. Anil Kapoor played the lead role in the film, with Sridevi and Urmila Matondkar playing his two wives. Urmila Matondkar’s performance in the film as the rich yet grounded lady was brilliant. She was nominated for the Filmfare award for the Best Supporting Actress.

Daud
In 1997, she starred in another Ram Gopal Verma directorial, Daud, with Sanjay Dutt. The film was an ‘on the run’ adventure and crime film, which also had hints of humour. Urmila Matondkar has given a great performance in Daud and is worth watching.

In 2000, Urmila Matondkar starred in this film with Ajay Devgn and Mahima Chowdhary. It was a romantic drama where the characters were torn in a dilemma of love and relations. Urmila Matondkar had portrayed her character, Sapna, really well, bringing her emotions to life.

Pinjar
Pinjar is a period drama film, based on the novel of the same name, by Amrita Pritam. It is a story set in the partition era and the film is directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has excelled at making Indian historical TV shows. Urmila Matondkar plays the role of Puro, a girl torn between her family and a love that breaks the norms set for her. Pinjar is a very beautiful love story, which also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Sanjay Suri.

Speed
Speed is an engaging action thriller, directed by Vikram Bhatt. Urmila Matondkar in Speed plays the role of Richa, the wife of an undercover agent, who gets kidnapped. In desperation, she manages to contact a random stranger, hoping for help. The film also stars Zayed Khan, Sanjay Suri, Aftab Shivdasani, Tanushree Dutta, and Ashish Chowdhary.
