ZEE5’s original Marathi series Hutatma, tells the story of the Samyukta movement, that led to the creation of Maharashtra, with Mumbai as its capital. After a successful stint with season 1, the series will return with season 2. The series features stars such as Anjali Patil, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Sachin Khedekar, Ashwini Kalsekar etc.

Before you commence with season 2, here are some highlights from season 1 that you might want to read to jog your memory. In the first episode, Vidyut’s father gets shit amidst the agitations and she decides to punish the man who murdered him.

Vidyut visits the man who was responsible for his father’s death and sets fire to his house. She however gets a shock upon knowing that she caught hold of the wrong man and it was someone else who killed her father.

After a long search, Vidyut finally finds the man that she had been looking for. But she is shocked to learn that her friend from the women’s committee that she works in, is involved with him. Now she’s in a dilemma about what she should do.

Jawaharlal Nehru declares Mumbai as an autonomous city, that would be controlled by the central government. The citizens are not happy with this news, which creates further unrest in the state.

Vidyut discovers that her friend from the committee has plans to kill Nehru. She also learns that she tried to kill her own partner and was the mastermind behind all the planning. What’s awaiting to be seen is how Vidyut will react to it all in season 2.
