Every Independence Day, we remember the great leaders who helped in freeing our country from the clutches of the British rule. We mention many great leaders in our history textbooks. While they continue to be unforgettable, we often tend to overlook the people today, who are using their influence and power for all the right reasons. Not only do they make us smile through a camera lens, but also make our lives better with their community service. We have been calling them heroes, and they have proved that they are truly worth it.

So, this Independence Day lets look at the philanthropists and real-life heroes who we often see on the big screen.
Chiranjeevi
Megastar Chiranjeevi is known for his style on-screen. Even at the age of 64, he rules the charts and cinema theatres. He is affectionately called ‘Annaya‘, and many artists have penned down songs for him. With all his greatness, what sets the megastar apart is his humility and the sense of belonging he awakens in his people. Throughout the Telugu speaking states, one can come across blood banks and eye banks set up by the actor. Apart from these, the actor has been encouraging his fans to do their bit for the society.
Pawan Kalyan
From sharing the harvests from his farms to meeting his fans in need, Pawan Kalyan has lived up to the title of ‘power star’. For this man, service to others is truly the purpose of his life. The actor founded an organisation called the Common Man Protection Fund which aims to help people from the weaker economic sections of the society.
Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni
The Akkineni couple, Nagarjuna and Amala, have been running the Blue Cross Hyderabad Foundation for many years. The NGO aims to help stray animals and continues contributing to the cause even as the nation was stuck in a lockdown. Apart from this, the leading Tollywood actor actively contributes to causes that need help.
Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu, lovingly called as the Prince of Tollywood, is working towards ensuring that the people who helped him build himself, live happily too. This man isn’t a fan of publicising his philanthropic activities and prefers keeping it to himself. However, it is known that the actor contributes 30% of his income towards community service and charity. Apart from adopting two villages, Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, donate money to old ages homes.
Samantha Akkineni
In an interview, Samantha spoke about how she realised that she had a lot more than she needed. When wondering how to make the best use of it, she stumbled upon the idea of founding an organisation and to help children and women with medical conditions that need attention. The organisation is called Pratyusha Support and has been thriving by supporting people in need.
Vijay Deverakonda
As the nation tried to find its way out of the coronavirus pandemic, Tollywood sensation, Vijay Deverakonda made an announcement. The actor shared the news of his non-profit organisation called The Deverakonda Foundation. He told his fans and followers that he aims to help the middle-class citizens through the pandemic and managed to reach his goal too. Apart from that, the actor also pledged to help at least one lakh youngsters in settling down with their desired job by offering skill training and job placements.
