On 15th January we mark the Indian Army Day. Owing to the occasion, many Bollywood actors took to their social media handles and extended heartfelt messages and greetings remembering the heroic deeds of our soldiers

Every year on January 15, India commemorates its army. For the uninitiated, Field Marshal KM Cariappa (then a Lieutenant General) assumed possession of the Indian Armed forces on this day in 1949 from British General Sir Francis Butcher, the final British Commander-in-Chief of the country. Army Day is commemorated to honour and memorialize our Heroic Indian troops who lay down their lives to defend the nation and its residents. On this special day, social media has been a hive of activity, with heartwarming greetings flowing in from all corners.

Vicky Kaushal who has been a part of a plot based on the national events involving the army in Uri: The Surgical Strike took to his Insta stories to commemorate this day. He posted a picture of the army members and in the caption wrote ‘Salute to the real heros’.

“Let’s remember & respect the Bravehearts who lay down their lives for us in the line of defense,” Sunny Deol tweeted, sharing a video from his film “Border.” Gratitude to those who are serving in the military to protect our motherland. A group of extraordinary men and women who put country first, everywhere and everywhere”, he continued. Jai Hind, Army Day, and IndiannArmy were among the hashtags he used. “Saluting the patriotism and heroism of the ladies and gentlemen who work in our country’s first line of defense,” Mohanlal wrote. Best wishes for India’s Army Day.

Rhea Chakraborty also took to her social media account and shared a picture of a soldier in silhouette foreground. She captioned the picture as “our flag does not fly because of the breeze; it flies because each soldier who died guarding it breathed his or her final breath. Happy Army Day, everyone! I salute the Indian army and every army man and woman’s family”.

Sara Ali Khan also took to her Instagram stories and shared a picture wherein she can be seen standing with a group of soldiers who are saluting in the camera. In the caption, she said “Thank you for keeping us safe and secure. Jai Hind!”
