Indian Idol’s First Winner Abhijeet Sawant Is Looking For Work Amid Lockdown- Details Inside!

Abhijeet Sawant became a household name after he appeared on the singing reality show Indian Idol and emerged as the winner of Season 1. Out of the 130 contestants who participated in the show, Abhijeet Sawant won hearts and the trophy alike. Initially, Abhijeet Sawant won the hearts of his fans by releasing his albums but soon started staying away from the limelight. Reports now claim that the singer is looking for work while his fans are eagerly waiting for his comeback.

As we all know that Covid-19 pandemic has impacted many industries including the Bollywood industry. Several celebrities revealed that they were undergoing a financial crisis due to lack of work. Abhijeet Sawant won the Indian Idol season 1 trophy and went on to appear in several other reality singing shows. He appeared in Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar and became the second runner-up. He also appeared on Asian Idol and became the third runner-up on the show.

After appearing on various shows, Abhijeet Sawant launched his album titled Aapka Abhijeet Sawant. His song Mohabatein Lutaunga, from his first album, became a superhit amongst his fans and gained him recognition. He released his second album Junoon, soon after, which also became popular. Later, Abhijeet Sawant was offered to lend his voice for the song Marjawan, from the film Aashiq Banaya Aapne.

After gaining immense popularity, Abhijeet Sawant married Shilpa Sawant, in 2007. The couple also participated in a dancing reality show, but was soon eliminated. He then hosted Indian Idol season 5, along with Hussain. Apart from singing, Abhijeet was also keen in acting and made his Bollywood debut with the film Lottery which released in 2009. When his fans thought he would come up with more projects, he decided to stay away from the limelight.

Back in 2018, Abhijeet joined the Shiv Sena, despite mentioning in several interviews that he was not keen on joining politics and would only focus on music. In 2019, Abhijeet Sawant released his song Baby on YouTube, which did not gain popularity. Amid the pandemic, several reports claim that Abhijeet is searching for work and is also working on his own reality show, which he plans to launch soon.
