The Indian Pro Music League, India’s first-of-its-kind singing reality show has begun and is done with four of its teams facing off against each other. Last weekend ie on March 6 and 7, the Mumbai, Gujarat, UP and Bengal teams had competed against each other. Both the episodes had brilliant performances, interesting stories, and a whole lot of fun. Read on to know what happened in the two episodes.
Saturday – 6th March
On 6 March, the two teams who had a face-off were Mumbai Warriors and Gujarat Rockers. The Gujarat Rockers began with their performance first. In the first round, captain Bhumi Trivedi gave a solo performance on the song Nagada Sang Dhol from Ram Leela. Against her, came the Mumbai Warriors captain, Shilpa Rao. She gave her solo performance on the song Buleya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
After the captains performed, the teams introduced their newcomers for competing in the second round of the episode. From Gujarat Rockers, came the newcomer Laj, who gave a solo performance on Tere Bina from Guru.

Next, captains Kailash Kher and Purva Mantri of the Mumbai Warriors performed on his iconic song, Teri Deewani. After the performance, Kailash Kher also shared the story of how the song was made.
From Gujarat Rockers, captains Bhumi Trivedi and Javed Ali, with Hemant Brijwasi, performed on the song Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Babli and fused it with Nigaahein Milaane Ko. Singer Shankar Mahadevan had sent a good luck message for Javed Ali, post which he shared how he had recorded for the song originally, with Shankar Ehsan Loy.
Next, Javed Ali and Hemant Brijwasi from the Gujarat Rockers performed together on Mast Kalandar from Heyy Babyy. Against them, Shilpa Rao and Purva Mantri of the Mumbai Warriors performed on Jazba from Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and also on Go Go Govinda from OMG: Oh My God. For the final round of the episode, captains of both the teams, Javed Ali and Kailash Kher had a face-off where they performed together on Arziyan (Maula Maula) from Delhi 6.

Sunday – 7th March
On Sunday, Bengal Tigers and UP Dabbangs had a face-off against each other. The teams first sent their newcomers, for the first round. From UP Dabbangs, the newcomer contestant was Rupam, who performed on Dil Mera Muft Ka from Agent Vinod. Next, Mismi from Bengal Tigers performed on the classic song, Jaane Kya Baat Hai.

After the first round, the UP Dabbangs captains, Ankit Tiwari and Payal Dev performed together on Be Twist and Khwab Dekhe. Payal Dev’s daughter was also present at the venue. She sang ‘I love you, mumma’ for her mother on the stage. The Bengal Tigers captains, Shaan and Akriti Kakar performed next, on Mere Saamne Wali Khidki Mein.
Next, the two teams played a little fun round of Antakshari, called the IPML Fantakshari.

Following that, the Bengal Tigers team performed some Indian folk songs and ended the performance with Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani. Salman Ali from UP Dabbangs performed next, on Aas Paas Khuda from Anjana Anjani.
For the face-off round, came Salman from UP Dabbangs and Rituraj from Bengal Tigers. The duo performed on Rashke Qamar.

The final performance of the show was a group performance – the Bengal Tigers’ captains performed on Hum Hain Naye from Dil Chahta Hai. After the performance, Shaan also shared a story about his song from the same film, Woh Ladki Hai Kahan and how he got to record it. Finally, the whole UP Dabbangs team performed on Afghan Jalebi from Phantom.

The episode ended on a high note, after everyone, including hosts Karan and Waluscha, together sang Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar at the end of the episode.
The voting lines for UP and Bengal Tigers teams are on currently while they are shut for Mumbai and Gujarat teams. The lines are active only for 24 hours so make sure you vote for your favourite singer and team at the earliest.
