Ireland Baldwin, Alec Baldwin’s daughter, spoke out against the “perpetuated hate, rage, and fighting” that has surrounded the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust” last week.
Baldwin, who is the daughter of “Saturday Night Live” guest star Alec Baldwin and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, targeted conservative pundit Candace Owens for her “tweets, lack of facts, and ignorance” about the incident. She slammed Owens and others who politicised the shooting that murdered cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza in a blistering retort.
Several of Alec Baldwin’s detractors, including Donald Trump Jr. and Republican congressmen, have used the outspoken actor’s leftist sympathies to attack the “Rust” star and producer who was in command of the pistol when it went off.

In response to the massacre, Owens stated last week, “Alec Baldwin spent four years dedicated to demonising Donald Trump and his supporters as terrible murderers.” “If it weren’t for the actual innocent people who were murdered by Alec, what has happened to him would be an example of poetic justice.” Please pray for their families; it’s heartbreaking.”
Owens then corrected the tweet “to say that “Alec Baldwin *killed* someone— not murdered someone, as murder carries a different legal definition.”
She went on to say that Candace’s comments were “hurting people,” and that anyone who was following her should “click that unfollow button if you’re trying to malign my father and tweet such awful statements about this tragic circumstance.” It hurts my heart to see folks who are so obnoxiously uneducated.
Ireland Baldwin responded to the incident on Friday by extending her condolences to Hutchins’ family and friends, as well as healing wishes to Souza. She also expressed her want to embrace her father “particularly tightly today.”
Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and his brother, Stephen Baldwin, have all expressed their support for the victims and for the “Rust” star, who has stated that he is “completely working with the police inquiry.”
