Hollywood director James Gunn recently revealed his favourite Bollywood film in social media interaction and his answer has been leaving quite a few people pleasantly surprised. During the interaction, the world-famous director revealed that he is a fan of the film Lagaan which stars Bollywood actor Aamir Khan in the lead role. His response also confirmed that he has watched quite a few Hindi films. The film Lagaan had released in the year 2001 and had also been a nominee at the Academy Awards that year. The film was based on the life of Indians under British rule and was also based on a series of true events.

The plot of the film revolved around the irrational tax slabs imposed under British rule and how it was tackled by a few Indian farmers. The films specifically emphasised the development of Cricket in the country and how it served as a medium to help an entire village. The film has won multiple awards in the past and stars Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, and Rachel Shelley in key roles.
