Saab Bahadar was the toughest film Jass ever wrote
Jass has written many successful Pollywood hits like Rabb Da Radio series, Daana Paani, Faraar, Ik Sandhu Hunda Si, and Saab Bahadar. However, the writer confesses that writing the Ammy Virk starrer crime thriller Saab Bahadar was incredibly tough. Jass says that he was very puzzled while writing the climax of the film. Since the film is a murder-mystery, he took days off with his assistants and travelled around Punjab in search of the perfect climax. Jass further adds that he will not write another suspense-drama, but Seema encourages him to do so.
Jass doesn’t like extempore acting
Usually, a writer is very close to the basic material of the film. The writer always wants the artistes to stick with the scripted lines. But nowadays, artistes like to give their personal touch, and many times, they come up with their own lines and inputs. Jass frankly says that he likes Binnu Dhillon and Gurpreet Ghuggi‘s inputs. He says that their inputs do add more value to the film. However, he doesn’t like most other actors going off-script.
Finding character names is a difficult task
Apart from writing the script, naming the character is another tough task for Jass. He says that he comes up with various names, but then he has to jot down and slash names on the basis of repetition or other factors.
Jass and his acting picks
Jaspinder puts Jass on the spot and asks him to cast actors in different genes. After thinking for a while, Jass says that he would cast Ammy Virk and Amrinder Gill for romantic films, Dev Kharoud for action films, Binnu Dhillon for comedy films, and Amrinder Gill once again for emotional drama.
So this is what the mind of a writer looks like! Watch the episode and share your views about Jass in the comments below.
